When Lida was very small she wanted to become a fireman. Then a doctor, to go to Africa with the suffering kids. But what impressed her the most was the Frankenstein movie that made her wonder how she could find the elixir that would give eternal living. This thought problematised her for many (childhood) years but led her without second thought to study Biology. Her love for studying life grew even more at the University where she dealt with studying the genes in the organism's growth which is still fascinating her. After completing her studies she became a researcher on stem cells and this is how the circle closes, as she found herself very close to her childhood reams: use the stem cells for curing diseases.
