Pecha Kucha in Japanese means "small talk" or "chat". It began in 2003 in Tokio as a non profit event with talks that follow strictly a humorous and minimal structure described by the scheme "10 * 20 * 20".
More specifically, it includes 10 speakers, who present their subject through 20 pictures and for each picture they can speak 20 seconds. This means they have 400 seconds or else saying 6 minutes and 40 seconds to make their speech. Since 2003, Pecha Kucha nights are taking place in more than 150 cities worldwide.
This May in Athens, dr Thodoris Anagnostopoulos, Molecular Biologist - Geneticist, Chairman of NGO "Science Communication - SciCo" will speak about the Communication of Science.
What is the communication of science? Why is it necessary for the Greek society? Who are the goals of the team "SciCo" ?
